Camille Alabaster is a full time artist with an on site open studio in Alexandra, in the heart of New Zealand’s picturesque South Island. Central Otago is the is the setting for her various art genres, but her inspiration comes from experiences both at home and far beyond.

Her eclectic features paintings in oils, encaustic, cold wax medium, acrylic and of course, mixed media. Representational and abstract meld together to form images from deep in her imagination.

Ceramic work consists of functional and decorative homeware and sculpture. A variety of glazing techniques are employed over black, cream and white stoneware as well as terracotta. Firing takes place in an onsite electric kiln.

Photography is clear and informative and is on printed canvas in many sizes and as postcards.

Costume jewellery, mainly earrings, are made from ceramic, metal, paper, washi tape and other innovative materials.
